My new favourite lipstick!

Hey guys! :) hope you've all been enjoying the sun!

So after work last week I was waiting for my stepdad to pick me up and so I popped into boots and ended up buying 4 things I didn't need... why does this always happen! I have no willpower with beauty products!
However, this turned out well as I bought a lipstick which is now my favourite everyday colour, I have worn it every day since I bought it and it was a bargain at £1.99!

The lipstick I bought is Natural Collection moisture shine lipstick in Rose Petal, it's a kind of nude slightly pinky colour and I just love it!

Natural collection moisture shine lipstick - Rose petal £1.99

With/without flash
I love this lipstick and it's so natural and pretty but it's not one of those nude lipsticks which look like foundation lips, eeeew! It's not drying at all, although I wouldn't expect this as it's 'moisture shine'! It doesn't stay on alll day but it stays on me for longer than I thought it would last for just £1.99!
I always buy cheaper lipsticks when I want to try a new colour just to see if I like it, and I love this so i'm gonna look out for a lipstick which will have better staying power in a colour similar to this! If any of you know a lipstick in this colour with good staying power please let me know!

Hope you enjoyed this post and I would definitely recommend you try this! Any summery lipsticks you're loving? Let me know!  Hope you all have a good rest of the day! :)

Good/bad MUA products!

Hey guys! :) Hope you've all had a good weekend, mine has left me absolutely knackered! :)

So recently i've been buying a few MUA products, everytime i'm in superdrug I always see them and think 'may aswell try it for £1' which is ridiculously cheap and so worth a try! Some I have been impressed with, some not so much!

GOOD products:

Bronzer - I use this bronzer almost everyday, saving my favourite GOSH bronzer for going out etc.  and I love it! It's a nice colour that blends well to create a natural looking bronzed cheek and not a strip of orangey brown which to be honest, I did kind of expect for £1!

Blusher - I have a blusher which is barbie pink and I love it, again it blends nicely and I just love the colour as its a brighter pink but it's not TOO  bright so it ends up looking like something you'd do for fancy dress!

BAD products:

Eyeliner -  I brought this as my Rimmel eyeliner was running out and so thought I would give this a go, however I have gone straight back to my usual! On first putting it on it did feel reaaaally soft and went completely blunt after applying it to one eye, it didn't take long before it smudged under my eye and it actually smudged quite far under my eye which was definitely not a good look!

Mascara - Again, my usual mascara was running out and so I thought 'may aswell give it a go' however I wasn't overly impressed with this! It made my eyelashes a bit longer but it took a lottttt of coats and felt like there was hardly any mascara on the wand, as if it was running out! It was also really dry and flaky and gave me really itchy eyes!

OKAY products:

Liquid eyeliner - I actually really like the bit which applies the liner as it's flexible but not too 'fling all over the place' and on first impressions I quite liked this, however it faded quite a bit and also flaked a bit. I might actually try this wand in a different liquid liner with a nicer solution!

Lipstick - I bought this lipstick as I wanted to see if the colour would suit me, without spending too much incase it didn't! I do quite like the colour which is a slightly orangey/coraly pink and so might invest in a better lipstick in this type of colour. Although I like the colour I don't particularly like the texture, it's really soft but i'd say it's too soft, it just felt like it was gonna slide everywhere and I thought I was gonna look like my little sister had put it on for me, it also didn't stay on overly long however it's not too bad, especially not for £1!

I didn't actually realise until I did this post that there actually seems to be a pattern with cheek products being good and eye products being not so good! I havn't tried any of the other MUA products such as the nail varnishes or powders but overall I am quite impressed considering the price!

What do you guys think of MUA products? Any you would recomend? :)

How to make a bow with your hair!

Hi guys! :)
So I did a post the other day of an OOTN and got asked to do a tutorial on how to do a bow with your hair! I always thought this looked so hard and confusing until one day I saw a youtube video and it is SO simple! There probably are other ways of doing it which may be more confusing and may work better but this one is simple and it worked okay for me!

PS: please ignore my terrible terrible roots!

So you know when you make a loop like this...
Loop it to the front instead of the back so the long bit's pointing forward
Pull the loop into two even parts
Then pull the long bit back between the two parts and clip it at the back! If you have short layers they won't reach the back and will ping out to the front so this might not work for you!
Make sure you use lotssss of hairspray and if you need to, which I did, used a kirby grip on each side to hold the bow down. You will need lots of hair grips to hold to middle part back or it will ping forward which is definitely not a good look!

So yeah as you can see this is really quite easy and definitely makes a change to the usual! I got so many compliments on it and I was just thinking 'hehe it really wasn't even hard', it's definitely one of those things that looks more special than it is haha!

Hope you're all having a good weekend :) i'm going to peppa pig world tomorrow with my little sister, think i'm almost as excited as she is!

EDS awareness month

This month is Ehlers-Danlos syndrome awareness month, a rare condition I have which has very little awareness, probably 99% of you won't have heard of it!

EDS is a defect in collagen proteins which are found in many areas of the body and so can affect tendons, ligaments, cartilage, skin, bone, blood vessels, the gut and the spine. It is caused by alterations in certain genes which therefore make the collagen weaker. As this weak collagen can affect a lot of parts of the body, EDS can cause a lot of problems. There are six main types of EDS however most people will fall into more than one category; hypermobility, classical, vascular, kyphoscoliosis, arthrochalasis, dermatosparaxis.

EDS, depending on which type, can cause:

Loose, unstable joints that are prone to: sprain, dislocation, subluxation and hyperextension
Early onset of osteoarthritis
Easy bruising
Dysautonomia typically accompanied by Valvular heart disease (such as mitral valve prolapse, which creates an increased risk for infective endocarditis during surgery, as well as possibly progressing to a life-threatening degree of severity of the prognosis of mitral valve prolapse)
Flat feet
High and narrow palate, resulting in dental crowding
Vulnerability to chest and sinus infections
Fragile blood vessels resulting from cystic medial necrosis with tendency towards aneurysm (even abdominal aortic aneurysm)
Velvety-smooth skin which may be stretchy
Abnormal wound healing and scar formation
Low muscle tone and muscle weakness
Myalgia and arthralgia

Other complications may include:
Headaches caused by an acquired Arnold-Chiari malformation (brain disorder)
Osteopenia (low bone density)
Problems with proprioception including dysmetria
Talipes equinovarus (club foot), especially in the Vascular type
Deformities of the spine, such as: Scoliosis (curvature of the spine), Kyphosis (a thoracic hump), Tethered spinal cord syndrome, Occipitoatlantoaxial hypermobility
Functional bowel disorders (functional gastritis, irritable bowel syndrome)
Gastroparesis (partial paralysis of the stomach)
Early-onset periodontitis
Nerve compression disorders (carpal tunnel syndrome, acroparesthesia, neuropathy)
Vascular skin conditions: Raynaud's phenomenon, Livedo reticularis
Blue sclera
Swan neck deformity of the fingers
Insensitivity to local anesthetics
Premature rupture of membranes during pregnancy
Platelet aggregation failure (platelets do not clump together properly)
Weak muscle tone (hypotonia) in infancy, which can delay the development of motor skills such as sitting, standing, and walking
Arterial/intestinal/uterine fragility or rupture

Yeah that's a lot of things right!

My personal EDS causes me loose joints (i am ridiculously flexible), easy bruising, flat feet, high palate (top of your mouth), stretchy skin, abnormal wound healing (i bleed for aaages) and scar formation (i scar SO easily and my big scar from my operation is widened), low muscle tone and weakness (i get tired really easily and have 'weak days' where just holding a glass of water my hand will shake as it's too weak to hold it), scoliosis (curved spine, i had a major operation to straighten it in august), raynauds (bad circulation causes problems in the fingers and toes, tooo long to explain in a bracket haha) and blue sclera (blue whites of the eyes).

EDS is also very frequently misdiagnosed/undiagnosed and as it's an 'invisible illness' can cause problems with people not believing you or thinking you are over exagerating or not caring etc. Most types do not decrease life expectancy however the vascular type reduces it to 40 years, luckily I don't have the vascular type!

EDS is a serious condition which, as you can see, can cause LOTS of problems and yet even many doctors have not heard of it. We need to raise awareness and help people to get diagnosed and get treatment. I know this is a very different post to my usual but I want to make as many people aware of this as possible!

Do any of you guys have EDS, or anyone you know? Or even think you may have it after reading this! I'd be really interested to know so comment this or email me if you like! You can also email me about anything else at all, if it's about my blog or make up or whatever! My email is emilyjane--@hotmail.com

If you'd like to be reaaallly lovely i'd be so grateful if any of you posted about EDS, even a simple tiny post nothing like this! Or a simple tweet or anything just to raise awareness even of one person! :)

OOTN + NOTW!

Okay I know I once again havn't posted in a while but I have been so busy as it's coming to the end of my college course and so I have so much work to do! However I will be finished in June and so hopefully will be able to do more posts!

Friday night it was my friends 18th birthday party and so this is what I wore...

Top - New Look £8 in sale - Size 8
Jeans - Primark £11 - Size 10
Shoes - New Look £10 in sale - Size 4
Earrings - New Look a while ago, not sure how much!

Because you can't see the big sparkly heel in the other picture :))

I put my hair into a bow to do something different with my hair and I got so many compliments on it, i've always thought it looks so cool but thought it was really hard to doo, untilllll I watched a youtube tutorial! So if you want me to do a post on how to do it, let me know and I willl! :)

This is how i've had my nails this week, I don't know why I seem to have some obsession with doing my little finger a different colour but I dunno I think it looks cool! I used Rimmel Stronger base coat, an Avon pink polish which i'm not sure the name of, a No7 nail polish in Milan on my little finger and No7 top coat. You may also have noticed that 90% of my nail polishes are pink....

Hope you enjoyed this post and yeah let me know if you want a tutorial on the bow hair!

HAUL: New Look, Office, Primark, Superdrug

I know this is another haul after the last one but i've been shopping again today and got a few bits so I thought i'd show you! There's a really good sale on in New Look, they have really recent tops in the sale and still have the popular sizes in stock!

Also, I thought i'd try something new and put what size I bought in things because they do this on the New Look website and I find it really helpful, so if you're a similar size to me hopefully this will help you decide which size to get if you're ordering online or whatever! So let me know if you like this!

So this is what I bought....

Cardigan - New Look £8! - Size 8
Okay first things first, please ignore my chubby belly, I did have a cheeky mcdonalds! This is slightly baggy and sooo comfy! I love the pattern aswelll, i'm not sure if it's suppposed to be animal print, I don't really know! And of courseeee I LOVE the colour as it's pink haha! I've been wanting a cardigan like this for a while as all my cardigans are normal colours like beige or grey or black so I can stick them on top of anything, but i've been really wanting a coloured and patterned one! And I can't believe this was £8! It was £24.99 before it was in sale!

Top - New Look £7 down rom £12.99 - Size 10
This is quite a bold top for me as its got a big pattern with gold and bright pink, but for some reason I really liked it! It's just plain grey on the back and is slightly longer at the back, I thought it would be easy just to throw on with some jeans or leggings or something! I love the fit of it aswell as it's not at all baggy but it doesn't cling to my belly, which is something I tend to have an issue with! It's really comfy and I really like it and definitely a bargain!

Top - New Look £8 down om £16.99 - Size 8

My friend has a top with this pattern on but it's a different shape and I really like it and when I saw this in a different shape I really liked it! And don't worry, she doesn't mind me having it haha! I don't relly know how to descibe the pattern, it's just random shapes really but it looks really cool! And i love the baby pink colour! I love the way it has really thin straps which kind of cross over at the back, yes it's one of those tops which you can never quite work out how to get into it and end up completely tangled! It kind of just hangs which again I like as it doesn't cling to mr bellly! The material isn't silk but it's kind of silky-ish and soft, I really don't know how to explain but hopefully you know what I mean!

Dress - Primark £6 - Size 8
I first saw this dress a couple of weeks ago and I fell in love with it! It's just so cute and summery and I dunno I just really realllly like it! As you can see it's got a high neck and the top half has got little holes in it, some of which are like flower shaped which is so cute! It also has a kind of oval shaped hole in the back which is really cool, it has a random little string to tie at the back which doesn't really make a difference to me but I don't mind it! It's just a jersey material and so it's really comfy, only downside is that it is reaaally short! It literally JUST covers my bum so i'd definitely have to wear it with leggings or something, I saw a girl wearing it with leggings and a denim jacket which looked really nice! I am a bit taller than average at 5 ft 7/8 but I never usually have a problem with dresses so i'm guessing most people will have this problem with the dress!

Lipstick - Primark £1!
I saw this whilst I was queueing for the dress in Primark and at just £1 I thought I may aswell give it a try! The reason I have done a picture of it on my lips is that they are so dry and flaky at the moment they look horrible! But I willl take a picture once they get better! I was pleasantly surprised with this as it's actually a really nice colour and i'll probably wear it alot, the actual lipstick does feel quite hard when you put it on and as if it's not transferring to your lips but it does! The packaging is also so cute, I love it!

MUA Eyeliner - Superdrug £1

My eyeliner has got to about an inch long which is rather hard to apply so I decided I should probably actually bother to buy a new one, I was going to get my favourite Rimmel eyeliner but I saw this and thought I might aswell try it for £1! The only good thing about this is that it has a little sharpener on the lid which is quite helpful, although i havn't actually used it! When I applied this it felt reaaally soft and it got so blunt after lining just one eye I had to sharpen it! And it just did not stay on and it smudged all under my eyes, not impressed at all with this! I'm very glad it was only £1 I wasted and shall be purchasing my usual Rimmel eyeliner!

Black Converse - Office £39.99 but £35.99 with my 10% student discount! Size 4
Okay i've been wanting these for a while as basically I had spinal surgery in August and I have to wear shoes which cover the top of my foot so i'm supported (no I don't understand either), so I cant wear dolly shoes and as I have to wear black shoes to college (beauty therapy uniform) and also to work this kind of left me with little options as I did used to wear dolly shoes! So yeah I got these to wear which i'm very happy about!

Okay so I hope you like what I bought! Feel free to ask any questions in the comments box :) and let me know about me putting the size in and if you find it helpful!
