My halloween makeup

Hi everyone!

So a few days ago I thought I would have a play around and try and figure out how I'll do my make up for Halloween. You may have seen my inspiration post here, which I used to help me decide. I also watched some videos on YouTube and used these along with the photos to put together my own look. I'm no make up artist so i've just added a little Halloween twist, nothing too crazy!

So, all I did to create this look is...

1. My usual base; foundation, concealer, powder etc. and eyebrows

2. Red eyeshadow all over the lid and almost to the brow, packing on more above the lid

3. Dark blue and charcoal/grey glitter all over the lid and a small amount above the lid

4. Black liquid liner on the lash line and creating fake lashes under the eye and above on the outer corner

5. White pencil liner on my water line

6. Pale yellow eyeshadow under the eye

7. Red and black eyeshadow creating the little veins, I used a tiny thin lip brush

8. A big pair of lashes!

9. Dark grey/black eyeshadow and white eyeshadow/powder to contour and highlight the cheek bones and nose

10. Red lip liner and lipstick, i'm wearing Rimmel Kate Moss 107

There are probably much better ways of doing this or much better products to use but I just used what I already had in my collection. I'd say this is probably a lot more realistic for most of us than the creations from the many professional make up artists i've watched on YouTube!

Hope you like this look. What will you be wearing for Halloween? Will you be jazzing up your makeup for the occasion?

Prairie Charms | Bows

Hey guys!

So recently a lovely website called Prairie Charms emailed me about 'Project blogger' in which I post about some items from their website as an entry for their competition. If I win I could even get to design my own item, how exciting!

I chose some hair bows which are so super cute and make it really easy to jazz up your hair. If you're like me and like to wear your hair up fairly often then these are really handy to make your hair more interesting.

I thought I would show you a couple of ways I like to wear my bows so I took to the garden with my friend Hannah as my photographer to take a whole load of photos! And here are the results..

I hope you like the photos! If you're interested in purchasing some of these bows or just having a general browse the website is www.prairiecharms.co.uk They have such pretty hair bows, floral crowns, jewellery and more so I would definitely recommend taking a look if you haven't before.

What do you think of these bows? Do you like to wear accessories in your hair?

OOTD | Shorts and a bobble hat

Obvs had to do a silly one
Hi guys!

I thought I would do a super quick outfit post whilst i'm waiting for my friends to arrive for a nice night in! Today was a big lazy day, getting up at 11:30 and going to asda was the extent of todays exercise. However, I did take advantage of having my friend over and took lots of photos outside for an upcoming blog post... I must invest in a tripod!

I wanted to throw on something fairly comfortable but i've been getting SO fed up of jeans and leggings lately so I put on these high waist shorts with super thick tights. They have a fleece lining how amazing is that and they're like £3 from Primark. Bargain. Then I just added a comfy patterned t-shirt, trainers and a bobble hat.

Bobble hat | New Look last year - about £5
T-shirt | Primark about £4
Leather jacket | Republic sale last year £30
Shorts (including belt) | New Look £19.99
Tights | Primark about £3
Trainers | Adidas £67
Bag | Accessorize £35

Am I the only one fed up with jeans and leggings? Is there anything else I can put on my legs other than atrocious patterned trousers that make me look like a pirate?

Halloween makeup inspiration

I'm currently sat on the sofa in some comfy pj's, watching x factor with mum and just having a good old relaxed night in. So, i've been doing a bit of research.. Halloween is coming up and with the fairly recent introduction of blogs and youtube into my life, this year's gonna be more about the make up than the costume for me. I think i'm gonna go vampire with a leather bralet and dark red lipstick.

Now I am no make up artist and I for sure won't be able to recreate these looks any where near this standard but I am gonna have a few practice runs and hopefully end up with something wearable. It's not going to be anything too garish, I was just thinking to add a bit of colour to my eyes, perhaps reddy/cranberry colours and a dark red lip (think Kate Moss 107). I cant decide whether to keep my face make up to the norm or add a bit of white/grey contouring, what do you think?

Anyway, after a lot of googling and youtube watching i've grown a little collection of inspiration images...

**All images found on Google**

Are you going to be doing some Halloween make up this year? Or are you just going to let the costume do the talking?

E.l.f. cutsom eyeshadow quad; night sky

The e.l.f. eyeshadow quad is the first custom quad i've ever purchased and also the first eyeshadows i've tried from e.l.f. I've been wanting to put together my own palette for a while, specifically lusting over mac, but whilst i'm trying to save I decided a cheaper alternative was on the cards.

I love the fact that you can put together just the colours you want, skipping out those few unused colours you get in pre made palettes. Now you may be thinking 'why has she bought 3 shadows for a 4 shadow quad'. Yes I realise it might seem quite ridiculous but honestly I was just looking for a few colours for a navy smokey eye and these were the only ones I needed. I wasn't sure which other one to choose and seeing as i'm saving, I may as well save a bit extra and fill that gap when I know what I want!

So as I said, I was after a few colours for a navy smokey eye. I wanted to try a bit of colour without going too garish and thought navy would go well with my blue eyes. These three colours are exactly what I was looking for, a neutral colour, a dark navy and a charcoal grey. They're all shimmery which is just what I wanted, hence the night sky blog title.

As for the quality of the shadows, the colour payoff is great and they do last a long time, bearing in mind I do use an eyelid primer. I would say they take a bit more blending than my naked palette or MUA palette but they are blendable. My main downside to this is the fall out, I have to be super careful with this, usually holding a finger under my eye to prevent fall out making me look like a panda.

Overall, I can work with the downsides and it gives me the look i'm after which lasts all day/night. I have been wearing this on all my nights out recently with a bit of eyeliner and lashings of mascara. I've also worn it a few times in the day not quite so dark. I really do love it and will definitely be looking into more eyeshadows from e.l.f.

Custom quad £1.50 E.l.f.
Custom shadows £1.50 each E.l.f.

Clarins Daily Energizer Cream

I brought this a couple of months back after hearing a lot of good things and loving the smell of it. Honestly, it smells amazing! I'd only ever used standard moisturisers from Boots or Superdrug and decided I needed to up my game and head down to a Beauty counter.

My past work had a Clarins counter and I'd always loved the smell of this and had thought about buying it. I'd tried the samples and read a few good reviews on blogs and what not so decided to make the purchase. At first, I loved putting this on and it felt really luxury. I loved the smell and it made my skin look bright and refreshed.

I'm now scraping out the last little bits of this pot and whilst I have enjoyed using this, I wouldn't say it's had a huge effect on my skin. The novelty of using this has worn off and i've become used to the smell, which to be honest was probably my favourite part of this product. It does moisturise my skin, but I don't find it any better than my old Nivea Soft to be fairly honest. It's not a bad product, but I am on the look out for a new cream to try this time.

Clarins Daily Energizer Cream | £21 John Lewis

Which daily moisturiser creams would you recommend?

Face of the day; LOOK blush/highlighter

You may have seen my recent post on this LOOK beauty blusher here in which I said how hard I was finding it to capture on camera. Well I think I have mastered it, so I thought I'd do a little face of the day to show you how it looks on.

I use this every day now as a highlighter as it just gives such a nice glow and makes me look more awake and brighter. I apply it to my cheek bones, forehead and a tiny bit on the nose and chin. Don't put to much on your nose, been there done that. Not a good look.

Amongst 1000 other products, i'm wearing my trusty Estee Lauder double-wear foundation, elf eyebrow kit, a GOSH eyeliner and the MUA heaven and earth palette. I actually have no lip product on here, I'm just wearing lip balm today and totally forgot to apply it before taking these photos.

LOOK Beauty blusher in 'flush' | £8 Superdrug

Is highlighter an every day essential for you? Which one is your favourite?
