My recent go-to lip product: MUA Power Pouts

Buildable, glossy goodness in a handy crayon stick; my new favourite go-to lip product. The MUA Power Pouts are dupe versions of the Clinique chubby sticks but come in at a much cheaper price. I bought mine on a 2 for £4/5 offer but they're usually £3 each. Compared to the £17 price tag for the Clinique version, I know i'd much rather try these first.

I've never used a chubby/crayon stick lip product before as I wasn't sure if I would like the finish, i'm very much a matte lipstick kinda girl and I HATE lipgloss. Ick. Hair stuck on lips and gloss stuck in hair is so not a good look. But, I really really like these. They just give a slight gloss rather than full on thick, sticky layer.

'Rendezvous'

'Rendezvous' is the perfect daytime colour that will go with any make up or outfit. It's just a subtle, slightly nudey brown toned pink that is so easy to wear and will suit lots skin tones. The brown tube actually kinda put me off because brown lipstick is definitely not me, but i'm glad I opened the lid because the tube totally gave me the wrong impression of what colour would be inside.

'Broken hearted'

'Broken hearted' is a gorgeous bright, fuschia pink and this is definitely where the term buildable comes in. I applied this three times throughout the day and down to the staining part of it, the colour was a fair bit bolder towards the end of the day. I love this aspect of it, I had a party in the evening so it worked perfectly to take me from day to night.

Overall, I would definitely recommend these products. The quality you get for the price you pay is amazing; the colours are perfect, they're super easy to wear, the lasting power is pretty good and suprisingly for me, I love the finish. I will definitely be popping in Superdrug to pick up some other shades, i've been eyeing up Irreplaceable and Justify...

What's your favourite chubby stick? Have you tried the MUA versions?

Also, let me know if you like the outside photos. I felt like something a bit different and I think they look much prettier than my usual desk photos!

Winter wants: Jumpers and jackets

So recently I have been so excited for autumn/winter, especially after Wednesdays blogger chat on Twitter! I just can't wait to wear jumpers, coats, hats, scarves and lots of cosy things. I've been doing a bit of window shopping online (and trying super hard not to spend loads of money!) so I thought I would put together a bit of a wishlist. This wishlist is obviously just jumpers and jackets but I may do other winter wishlists such as boots or bottoms.

My favourite item is probably the Asos pink/red coat, I love the fabric contrast and the colour! What's your favourite item from this wishlist?

THAT skort (well an ebay version)

(Excuse club photos, as usual left in a rush so got my friend to take photos in the middle of the dance floor ha!)

Good evening!

If you havn't seen this style of Skort floating about blogger world, you must have been hiding under a rock. I have a huge obsession with shorts and I love things that are a slightly different shape instead of the standard thing, so this was straight on my list!

The original version of this is from Zara and I think around £45 which is fairly expensive, but I found this one on Ebay for about £8 including postage. I also LOVE the pattern on this, I'd only seen plain black or white but when I spotted this I knew it was my thing. As I said, I like things different to the standard! However I do now want the black and white ones...

Everyone seems to absolutely love these skorts but I can see why, the pointed front makes your legs look much longer and thinner. I also like that it's slightly high waisted as i'm not a fan of my stomach. I'm not usually one to wear a tight top with my stomach out but this really helped make my body look a bit better! I was also a bit brave as half of my scar was showing in this, you can kind of see in the photos, on my left side.

Top - Primark
Necklace - Primark
Skort - Ebay
Bag - Primark

Okay so until I just wrote that I didn't realise how much Primark I was wearing, such a cheap outfit haha! If you want a Skort like this I would definitely recommend taking a look on Ebay, there is plenty on there for much, much cheaper than Zara and mine was from an English seller so didn't take long at all to arrive. I also found this very true to size, which can sometimes be a problem with Ebay!

Do you have a Skort? Are you lusting after one? Or are you just not catching on to the trend!

John Freida: Sheer Blonde conditioning treatment

Hello ladies!

So as is fairly obvious, I have veeery blonde hair, almost white. I love having bright blonde hair but with that, comes lots of damage! Bleaching is not a good thing to do to your hair but it's the only way to achieve this colour. However now i'm working full time I have moved on from box bleach and get it done at the salon, much to my hairs delight. So seeing as I strip my hair of it's goodness every few months, i've been really into hair masques and treatments recently to try and replenish it.

Alongside using a LOT less heat on my hair, i've been trying a whole load of treatments and this one has come up trumps (that is the right saying right?). This is actually one my friend bought me for my birthday but can be purchased in Boots for £5.99 and they often have deals on such as 3 for 2 or 3 for £10 etc.

So on first impressions, you open the pot and are greeted by the nicest smell. I have no idea what the smell is, I wouldn't say it's fruity but it smells damn good and isn't too overpowering and sickly. It's a creamy consistency and not too thick so it's super easy to apply to your hair. I apply it when i'm in the bath or shower, pop my hair in a bun whilst I wash all the rest of me and then rinse it out. I always do my hair first so I can leave treatments on for as long as possible without having to get out and back in!

This is the best treatment i've used in quite a while. This leaves my hair so soft and silky and even feels a lot softer whilst it's still wet. It's less tangly and more manageable and something I have never ever had with my hair, it makes it so shiny it actually reflects light. I always thought that was only possible on brown hair or in adverts, but this bad boy gives me that! I've used this probably about 5 times now and i've only used a third of the pot so it's also going to last me a while! The only downside, I wouldn't actually say this does anything towards brightening my blonde hair despite it being specifically for blondes. However, it's definitely worth it for the conditioning properties.

PROS:
-Smells good
-Reasonable price
-Easy to use
-Silky, shiny hair

CONS:
-Blondes specific
-Doesn't brighten my blonde

Overall, I would definitely repurchase this product and recommend it if you want silky, shiny hair. It is a specific blonde product but maybe it would still be fine to use on brown hair? I'm not sure, but if you can, give it a go!

NEW BLOG NAME AND URL

<a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/10344175/?claim=ekh3hvattxp">Follow my blog with Bloglovin</a>

Hey everyone!

Ever since I started my blog, I have wanted to change the name. Previously it was just my full name because I had NO idea what to call my blog but couldn't wait to start it, but I felt like it was really boring and long to say and I felt like it didn't really have its own name.

I wanted something simple and still related to my name and I have finally decided to rename it Emilyke. Emilyke means 'little Emily' in Hungarian and is one of my nicknames from friends at work. I thought about it and decided it was exactly what I wanted; related to my name, very simple and not meaningless. So there we have it, 'emilyjaneosborne' is now Emilyke. Woohoo :)

This means I also now have a new site URL which is emilykebeauty.blogspot.com

I was a bit worried about changing the name seeing as it may not be recognised as the same blog and people might think it's someone else, but i've kept the rest of my layout the same for now and hopefully my lovely followers will see this post and realise it is me!

And a major downside to changing the name, I wasn't sure if it would change on Bloglovin or not and cause problems so stupid me unclaimed my blog and then reclaimed it as the new URL, therefore losing all my Bloglovin followers. :( So please please please if you were following me via Bloglovin, click here to refollow me!

Hope you like the new name! What do you think?

Chihuahuas and cocktails

In this recent sunny weather i've developed quite a thing for cocktails in pub/bar gardens. There's a lovely bar in my town which does 2 for 1 cocktails all day everyday so me and my work friends have become regular customers on our days off! It's so nice to just relax in the sun and have a laugh with a couple of yummy drinks!

On a trip here last week I wore a recent purchase from Forever 21 which has got to be one of my top favourite tops at the moment! I love animals and this cute little chihuahua top just had to be mine, I bought this on a trip to London just over a week ago in the Oxford Street store which is amaaaaaazing! I can't remember the exact price but it was pretty decent, I think somewhere around the £12 mark. I was feeling a lazy outfit day so threw on a pair of jeans and my favourite Converse.

What's your favourite cocktail? Do you like animal tees?

A day at the seaside

Hola! (that's me wishing I was on holiday)

My not so little anymore sister was 5 on Tuesday so we took her for a day out to Southend where we won pointless prizes in the 2p machines, ate ice cream and donuts and went on lots of rides in Adventure Island. When I say pointless, I mean seriously this is the only occasion where you would spend tubs galore of 2p's to win voodoo dolls, angry bird balls, the gangnam man and last but not least, 'fart face' the farting pillow.

I havn't been to Southend in a few years but I have been many times and I absolutely love it. Perhaps a 19 year old shouldn't be having so much fun playing on 2p machines and going on childrens rides but I had such a good day. It brings back memories of coming when I was little so it's a really nostalgic place for me. It wasn't the nicest of days, note cloudy skies in pictures, but that actually made it better for me! I can't walk about all day in the heat all day anyway and English sea sides are supposed to be cold and rainy right? It just adds to the experience!

Excuse the terrible mirror shot for my OOTD, it doesn't matter where in my house I place my camera, every outfit picture turns out as bright as if I were standing on the sun. Maybe it's something to do with the timer? I don't know but until I sort it out, I am stuck with wonderful mirror shots. I just wore leggings and this baggy top to be comfy and ready for a lot of walking about. My shoes were downstairs and I was in a rush hence why they're not in the photo, but I wore my leopard print Converse to be comfy and as I liked the colours with this top. To keep warm I threw on a chunky grey cardigan and my trusty leather jacket.

Top - Forever 21
Leggings - Select
Necklace - River Island
Lips - Elf matte lip colour in Coral (post coming soon!)

I had a lovely day out, it was so nice to get away and go back to a time in my life when all I cared about was the latest smelly gel pens. I loved spending the day with my sister for her birthday, which she declared the 'best birthday ever' and I shall be hoping to go back there again some time. Don't you just love relaxing days where you can just have fun and feel like a kid?
